HEADSHOT: Danielle Anderson

I know reading about good headshots is one thing, but seeing them can actually be far more helpful.  That being said, here is our very subjective pick of the week.  You may not like the picture, thus the “subjective” part, but one thing will be clear.  We are right. (just kidding…kind of.)

This image encompasses all the elements of a great shot.  The clothes, the colors, the lighting, and the personality are all working towards the same goal.  You know who this ‘character’ is, you see her on television and in movies every day.  There is no guessing and therefore there is less hesitation on the part of the casting director to call the actress in if this look fits the role.  Type cast yourself, then get pictures that mirror that.

As actors you have one opportunity to make a first impression. It is a lot like online dating. If you send out a picture that is great but doesn't look like you, your date (casting) is gonna be disappointed. You won't get a second chance. But if you are able to capture your personality and the strongest aspects of your talents in that one frame, you'll find that there are a lot of people out there looking for someone just like you. SO, this blog is dedicated to getting you more dates, or rather auditions. We leave your actual dating life up to you. With over 30 years of experience in the photography and headshot business, I will keep you posted on the business of acting with an emphasis on photos.
