5 Ways To Increase Your Social Media Following

Every day more and more advertisers are increasing their advertising budgets across a variety of social media networks.  In addition, more and more casting directors are using social media followers and subscribers as part of their booking criteria.

So how do you grow your presence and get more followers?

#1 – Narrow Your Brand
Who are you?  As an Actor you need to know your Niche.  Keep it simple and make sure it represents you as an Actor.

#2 – Be Engaging
Actively like and follow like minded folks.  Build a Social Media community.

#3 – Post Only Quality Content
As you’re starting out this may limit your posting but quality content will help engage other users and attract them to your posts.

#4 – Consistent Posting
Don’t disappear.  Make sure you are posting at least every few days (again with quality content only) and within your Brand.  You are an Actor; make posts that pertain to Acting and the Acting Community.

#5 – Use Proper Hashtags
Make them very specific to that individual post.  Don’t use generic hashtags nor the same hashtags on every post.  Hashtags are a great way to gain followers outside of your acting community.

As actors you have one opportunity to make a first impression. It is a lot like online dating. If you send out a picture that is great but doesn't look like you, your date (casting) is gonna be disappointed. You won't get a second chance. But if you are able to capture your personality and the strongest aspects of your talents in that one frame, you'll find that there are a lot of people out there looking for someone just like you. SO, this blog is dedicated to getting you more dates, or rather auditions. We leave your actual dating life up to you. With over 30 years of experience in the photography and headshot business, I will keep you posted on the business of acting with an emphasis on photos.
